ConvaTec dressings
ConvaTec Wound Dressings
The wound dressings are separated in two large categories: The adhesive patches (for surface and low depth wounds, treated with Duoderm and confeel types) and the non-adhesive patches (for deeper wounds that are also exudative, treated with Kaltostat, confeel seasorb and Aquacel). During the past few years, the market has been enriched with dressings that are a combination of the two above categories, (adhesive + bandage, called "Combiderm"). The patches of all brands are hydropolymers and adhesive, and also sticky due to the fact that they consistute of polymeric saccharides such as cellulose, pectin, and gelatin. This helps in trapping the wound secretions and forming a gel between the layers that makes the patch easy and painless to replace.
