Catheterization trainer with male genital insert „Henri“ and female genital insert „Florence“ - Erler Zimmer
Meet our Henri Dunant and Florence Nightingale training models, named after historical figures to honor medical milestones. These professional training models offer realistic simulation and education on proper transurethral bladder catheterization for both male and female anatomy. The modular pelvic housing allows for the use of male and female genital inserts while strictly maintaining anatomical accuracy. The innovative bladder accommodates different anatomies, ensuring an uninterrupted urethral path from meatus to bladder neck. Both anatomical inserts use high-quality materials, closely simulating real human tissues in appearance and feel, while maintaining durability.
The bladder's shape is thoughtfully designed to eliminate unrealistic resistance in existing catheterization trainers. This prevents students from attempting to "palpate" the back of the bladder for correct insertion depth. The innovative valve design ensures natural catheter entry without resistance. The transparent bladder allows students to observe catheter position and depth, providing excellent training on foley catheters, as the inflation of the balloon can be observed. The bladder connects to a fluid bag, simulating "urine" flow post-catheterization.
- The male genital insert includes a replaceable foreskin with realistic mobility for training retraction, handling, and hygiene procedures. It features the most realistic urethra among all available catheterization trainers, representing all four zones with corresponding anatomical shape and catheterization resistance. The included strap simulates prostate narrowing due to BPH or prostate cancer, emphasizing the need for larger or more rigid catheters.
- The female genital insert requires spreading flexible labia to locate the urethral meatus. The urethral opening is not immediately obvious and is situated close to the open vaginal canal, highlighting potential challenges in catheterization. The urethra provides a realistic amount of resistance and a lifelike feel during catheter insertion.
This training model is available as a combination with both genital inserts, or as a male-only or female-only version. The inserts are also individually purchasable, allowing easy upgrades from a unisex model to a dual-sex version.
